We are so close. Yet, it feels like so far 🙂 Parker got all of the holes filled and seams caulked a few weeks ago. After that, he taped up the room to get ready for paint.
Then we didn’t know what to do. Should we try to paint it on our own or should we hire someone? We have done lots of painting on our own, but we have never used a paint sprayer. We want the cabinets to be sprayed so that there is a smooth furniture-like finish. We decided to go ahead and get some quotes. We have one quote, are waiting on another, and are meeting with another painter on Tuesday. We also need to decide what color to paint them!! We are still trying to decide, but I highly doubt it will be either of the two colors we already showed you! We have something else in mind now. Stay tuned.
Even if we don’t end up hiring a painter, I loved having the last guy out because he seemed genuinely impressed with Parker’s carpentry skills. He said he works with master carpenters and knows a good job when he sees it. Yay Parker! I already knew it was good, but I’m sure it was nice for Parker to hear it from someone who knows more than I do.
Even though we’ve been at a bit of a standstill in the mudroom for a few weeks, we wanted to keep progressing; so Parker built the stairs in the garage. They turned out lovely (as lovely as garage stairs can be). Actually, I really do like them. Before, their was a gap between the stairs and the wall. It was just a tiny little corner that collected spider webs and other gross stuff. These feel clean and new. Let’s hope they stay that way!
